Lemon Meringue Pie by the Three Kitcheneers

I think a lot of people think of lemon meringue pie as a summer treat but that's a shame. Lemons are in season during the winter months and pies made now will be tastier than those made in July. Added bonus: even if you live in an area where citrus trees are not native, prices on citrus are lower during December, January and February than they are the rest of the year. Take advantage and make this creamy, buttery, fluffy pie.

Oreo and Peanut Butter Pie by Technicolor Kitchen

I made some brownies using Oreos recently and since then other Oreo treats have been catching my eye. This Oreo and Peanut Butter Pie by the incredible Technicolor Kitchen looks like a sure winner! Peanut butter, chocolate and an Oreo crust? I think that is the American dessert trifecta.

Almost Healthy Chocolate Amaretto Silk Pie by Baking with Booze

I love the niche blog so of course I have to share a recipe from Baking with Booze! They are devoted to sharing boozy recipes to the discerning public. I picked this pie to share because while it sounds decadent (chocolate! amaretto!) but it uses siken tofu to make it creamy versus cream and eggs. So, almost healthy! The crust has butter but if you substituted margarine or another nondairy fat, the whole pie could be vegan.

Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie by Pie on Sunday

Fairly new blog, Pie on Sunday's mission is "saving my family from a world without pie". A worthy mission if I ever heard one! She makes a pie every Sunday. On this particular Sunday she made a pie for her 7-year old's birthday. It sounds like the perfect pie for a little boy or anyone, really: full of nuts, rich with sugar and tossed with chocolate chips. One tip: don't pre-bake the crust!
